These and other questions were addressed in an Aug 2006 survey conceived by Korn/Ferry International (), a global provider of talent management solutions, in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit, which conducted the survey.
So what defines the current Asian business leadership style? According to nearly 57% of respondents, the answer is a reliance on family and friendship links.
However, Western leadership practices still have a place in Asia – more than half say that empowering employees to take initiatives and act independently, as well as focusing on strategic vision, are the top Western leadership attributes that should be adopted for future success.
