The American Scandinavian Student Exchange (ASSE) is currently accepting host applications for the 2007-2008 school year, according to area representative Rosann Mahuron of Bedford.
Mahuron and her husband, Wayne, know first hand the joy of hosting an exchange student. They've done it four times between 1992 and 2000 - hosting two students from Columbia as well as students who hailed for Germany and Japan.
She explained that having an exchange student in your home is much like having an adopted teenage son or daughter from oversees. The students do their share of the family chores and are eager to participate in the family's leisure and recreational activities.
